Questions & Answers
  • How many months in advance do I need to reserve your services for my wedding date? You can reserve your wedding date at any time. The earlier ther better since the longer you wait, the more chance someone else will book your date of choice..

  • Can your DJ MC our event? Can you provide a microphone? MC functions are included with any price quoted. There is no extra charge for this service..

  • What are your standard payment terms? $100 deposit when the agreement is returned. Balance due at the reception. Currently, only cash or check is accepted..

  • What is your customer satisfication cancellation policy? I haven't given this one much thought, since I have never had (to my knowledge) an unsatisfied cutomer. If I do not provide the services you expect, you don't recommend me to friends. That's bad for business. Everything possible will be done to ensure that you are 100% satisfied. If you are not 100% satisfied, I'll make it right..

  • What is your event cancellation policy? If I cancel, your deposit will be fully refunded (has never happened). If you cancel, deposit may not be refundable depending on how close to wedding date you cancel..

  • What type of equipment do you use? What special feature (lighting, etc) can you provide? All equipment is professional grade DJ gear. Lighting is included with the music. Dance lighting consists of 2 vertigos (multi colored beams of light that cover the room and bounce around to the beat of the music) and/or a mirror ball with white spotlight. I also have a wireless mic for toasting, etc..

  • We want to meet and talk to the DJ that will be at our wedding reception, is that a problem? Not at all. We can set up a meeting at your convenience..

  • How early do you typically arrive before an event? I normally arrive about 1 hour before the event start time. This gives me plenty of time to set up and go over your wedding planner one last time..

  • How many weddings do you perform each year? Depending on how busy I want to be, I will generally book between 20-40 events each year. .

  • Do you bring backup equipment to the event? Do you have backup djs in case of sickness? All of my equipment is professional grade DJ gear, and is serviced regularly. I have never had an equipment failure, nor have I ever missed an event due to sickness in 17 years as a DJ. If needed, I do have backup professional DJs that could fill in for me. I bring necessary fuses and tools to repair malfunctioning equipment, but (knock on wood), I have never had to do anything beyond replacing batteries in my wireless microphone..

  • Can guests make song requests? How many (and what types) of CDs will the DJ bring to the event? Yes, I encourage requests. I have a wide range of music to suit most tastes. My main list of selections is in digital format, and I will supplement with CDs based on your requests. Everey song on my music list (available on my website)is present at every event. Anything you need that is not on the list will be added at your request..

  • Do we need to provide a meal for the DJ during the event? No. You are already paying me to be there. I will have eaten before I arrive, and if necessary, will bring a snack and water bottle. I am there to make sure that you and your guests are having a good time, not the other way around..

  • What happens prior to the wedding? When do you need our song list? Prior to the wedding, I will send you a wedding planner sheet and a music list. You can use this planner to chose your special songs, let me know what music you do and do not want, and list your wedding party for announcing upon arrival. .

  • Do you disc jockeys take any breaks or pauses from playing music? Not unless its at your direction. I would break for announcements or other times when music is not desired. Whether it's background music or dancing, you paid for music, and unless you tell me different, the music will play..

  • What standard attire will the DJ wear to my function? May I request that the DJ wear a tuxedo? Standard attire is a sport coat, dress slacks, shirt and tie. I usually do not wear a tuxedo because I feel that the tuxedos should be reserved for the wedding party. It's what makes them stand out. However, it's your show. If a tuxedo is an absolute must, you may request it..

  • How many DJs do you have on staff? What is your qualification for hiring DJs I am the only DJ at Choice 1. You will talk with me, and I will be the DJ for your event. Period..

  • What makes you different from other local disc jockeys? Why should someone hire you? I only book 1 event per day, so if your reception runs over, there is no worry about me having to pack up and leave in the middle of dancing. Believe me, it happens! I am the person you will deal with from start to finish, so there are no worries about your needs getting lost from one person to the next. Since I do not have to pay another DJ to play at your reception, I am able to keep my prices down. My goal is to provide top-notch service at the best possible price..
